Mossel Bay Great White Shark Update: What You Need to Know as of 27th April

If you are planning a trip to Mossel Bay and hoping to catch a glimpse of the impressive Great White Shark, then you are in luck. As of 27th April, there has been excellent shark action in Mossel Bay, with more Great White Sharks moving into the bay, ready for the winter season hunting the Cape Fur Seals. 

The Great White Sharks are slowly moving over to the island, but still seem to be spending most of their time on the Klein Brak reef system. So when taking a tour to see the Great White Sharks we anchor impressively close to the beach on the other side of the bay as this is where the Great Whites are hunting other shark species, game fish and rays.

Over the last few weeks, there have been several notable sightings of Great White Sharks in Mossel Bay. One of the most active individuals is a 3-meter shark that has put on quite a show every time she passes by the boat. It has been spotted several times over the last couple of weeks, making it a regular visitor in the area.

In addition to the active 3-meter shark, there have been sightings of bigger sharks moving into the bay, notably a Great White Shark longer than 4 meters in length. This is a rare occurrence for Mossel Bay, so tourists have been extremely lucky and thrilled to witness such a special experience.
